Brookhaven otherwise known as Crookhaven had one of the strongest political GOP machines in the area that had once had one of the strongest GOP machines in the country. After the area turned on the GOP nationally decades of scandals which coined the term Crookhaven finally caught up to the GOP in the town of Brookhaven as well as other parts of LI. the GOP had a stranglehold on Brookhaven for many many years till they got drop kicked a few years ago due to problems in the party, locally nationally and corruption. Well the GOP problems and corruption unravels yet again.
