And, if I heard correctly, Obama had many more donors. This is great news.

I'm amazed that 90% of Obama's donations came in under $100.

Thank God the DLC doesn't control the Democratic party anymore.

There has just been a huge resurgence at the grassroots/netroots level throughout the country. It has really helped with both fundraising and winning elections.

Wow. Very impressive indeed, especially considering that there are two Clintons as opposed to one Obama.

Arguably the grassroots are stronger now, having learned from their mistakes with Dean and been the real movers and shakers of 2006.

Not 100% sure yet, but yes. The only other candidate I'm somewhat considering is Edwards.

The same grassroots organisation that got behind Howard Dean?

The same grassroots that were the driving force behind the 2006 election success. The same grassroots that were the ones who pushed Jon Tester, Jim Webb, Patick Murphy, Paul Hodes, Carol Shea-Porter and countless other candidates early on when no one thought they could win.

Those grassroots supporters. The ones who have turned around the Democratic party.

He said the DLC right?  The DLC candidate was Joe Lieberman.

Not really. While he was the only candidate at the time officially affiliated with the DLC (I don't think he is anymore?), the vast majority of DLCers supported either John Kerry or John Edwards, both members of the New Democratic Caucus.

Besides, anyone who supported Joe Lieberman for President in 2004 had to have been insane. He has to be the most boring person in the senate.

Lieberman ran the DLC.  Further who did Al From support? =)

It's too bad that Obama's financial success hasn't translated to poll results.

He's doing pretty well, though, his numbers are steadily rising. However, you're right, it is somewhat intriguing, considering he set the ultimate donor record so far.

The same grassroots organisation that got behind Howard Dean? The establishment candidate still got the nom.

What made Kerry the establishment candidate? Clinton supported Clark and Gore endorsed Dean.

B, there was no way Hillary would be able to maintain her momentum once Edwards and Obama went full swing. But I'm sure people are stunned she's still leading.

Yes, Clinton and Gore supported other people... but that doesn't mean anything. Kerry is as establishment as they come.

Obama's numbers are fine. He doesn't want to peak too early.
