Let's suppose that McCain dies in mid-April (probably due to suicide bc of a Democratic Senate LOL.) How would his death affect the GOP race? Who would gain and who would lose? Any thoughts?

First of all, please change the title of this thread. I rushed over to cnn.com and my heart jumped.

Secondly, do not discuss a person's mortality on this board. If you must, do it in what if.

I would actually have to agree with Naso here.  The title of this thread is very misleading and possibly upsetting to some.

I didn't find it misleading, since it's already in the 'What-if' board.  The clue is in the name.  My only minor gripe is this:

(probably due to suicide bc of a Democratic Senate LOL.)

In such a scenario, a lot of support would bleed over to Fred Thompson and Rudy Giuliani. Mitt Romney, less so.

It was originally posted in the 2008 elections board.  Nym moved it here.
