ugh.  okay.

someone explain to dodd that presidential candidates need a vision.  the big picture.

presidential contests are decided on subprime lending, the ambassador to belgium, or asking people 'what if your child is gay'

I have no problem with Dodd's comments...other than his opposition to Gay Marriage.  I really don't get that.  I know it's the politically popular way to go, but it's so f'ing disingenuous.  I really wish someone would admit the emperor has no clothes on this issue and talk "straight" about it.  I really don't think it would be the gaffe everyone assumes it would be.

I agree with you.

Dodd should ask "what if Chris Dodd was gay?" Too bad he isn't doing well enough in the polls yet for Ann Coulter to challenge his sexual orientation.

Dodd had a chance to set himself apart and endorse gay marriage.  Alas that he didn't.

I hope you were being sarcastic here...otherwise, it would be very sad to see you take pride in the fact that your candidate has surpassed a non-candidate who disclaimed interest last year.

Dodd will suffer a crushing defeat in New Hampsire, in his home base of New England, after which he will withdraw from the race, pontificating on the "moral" victory his campaign has achieved.

This well meaning but misguided wanderer, who has lost his way in the Presidential campaign wilderness, indeed, some would say never did find his way, then returns to the plush environs of the Upper House, known as the United States Senate, there to languish in moribund obscurity, on occasion to intone some inane prattle into an inconsequential confab, until, mercifully, the nation is at long last freed from the insipid meanderings of this less than awe inspiring public servant, upon the occasion of his return to his East Haddam domicile, from whence he never again ventures into the realm of pursuing the nation's premier executive undertaking.

He's not a bad candidate. He was DNC chair when Clinton got re-elected. His main problem is that it's a strong Democratic field, unlike the total joke Republican field.

Yes, until I read the "but not gay marriage" line, I really thought he was being pretty honest for a Presidential candidate. Now it just seems like he was just running at the mouth a la Joe Biden.
