I'm gonna extend the influencing period by a day, as I haven't had a chance to get back to anyone about their PMs yet.

any chance you could move the deadline back a day for memorial day?

say may 29/30 11pm?

Sorry, I missed this.  If you have anything you would like to submit, I would allow you to do so so long as it is before the ballot is over.

Cardinal Antonelli slowly rises.
From Rome to Rio de Janiero, from Palermo to Port au Prince, from Milan to Manila...

...all these famous cities and the populations around them lie in what I must call the Soviet sphere, and all are subject, in one form or another, not only to Soviet influence but to a very high and in some cases increasing measure of control from Moscow.

Soulty, I actually really liked the old format. Is it too much trouble to make or would it be possible to bring it back? It's much easier to compare with the old ballot myself than it is to get an over-view of where the votes are coming from. Again, if it's too much trouble I understand that you won't do it. But I'd appreciate it... Smiley

I'm gonna make one key change in the rules.

I guess I hadn't really thought about what 50-someodd ballots would look like in the grand scheme of things.  So, I am changing the rules so that, if there is no Pope after 20 ballots, then it goes down to a 3/5 majority.  If after 30 ballots there is still no winner, then if decends to 50% + 1.

No, 59% + 1 is not necessarily a majority.

If there an odd number of votes, 33 for example, a majority 17 in whole numbers (majority means more than half).  Exactly 50% of 33 is 16.5.    50% + 1 of 33 is 17.5 (or 18 in whole numbers).  You'd end up needing a bit more than a majority with 50% + 1.

You might want to check Wiki:

Well, in this case, we are playing with an even number... but okay... a majority.
