Well, "neither" is effectively pro-government, but I have a feeling I'd be sick of De Gaulle like everyone else by then.  I just would not be on the side of the people trying to bring him down.

I'm not a great fan of De Gaulle, at least not in his late years. But the 1968 Revolution had no alternative political project (and those who tried, like Mitterrand, to exploit the event in order to take power were just disgusting), and they would just have destabilized the State for noting. I would have supported a democratic and political alternance to gaullism, but not this kind of quixotic idealistic movement. And anyways, the defeat of protesters didn't prevent their ideas to progressively prevail in the society, and the big socials progresses of the 70's were in part due to this event. On an economic front, the Grenelle agreements were also pretty good for workers.
