Not particularly, the best bits of 2016 for me were during the school year

I went on an extended trip to Europe that summer, so yes, but only in that narrow sense. Even aside from politics, I wasn't super happy with how things were going otherwise.

F*** no! My friend committed suicide and two of my pets died.

That was the start of the worst 12 month span of my life, made worse by the election of the most ostentacious, unqualified psychopathsto ever get elected to national office.

No, since I behaved horribly at school at the time and was not interested in politics yet (I did like history though, including some fairly niche topics)

Actually, yes. The 2010s were an amazing time in Southern Ontario, including and especially the summer of 2016. The COVID-19 pandemic really ruined life in Canada.

I also visited California that summer.

Everyone thought The Hillary would win.  Easily.  So yes.

And then the Dark Days descended, until a Chinese biolab virus* rescued the planet, and gave us "educated", white-collar worker bees the unretractable Forbidden Fruit known as "remote telework".

It is God's Will.

*note:  I actually don't believe China cooties was bioengineered. It was simply the result of poor Chinese people eating disgusting ass food like armadillo testicles.  And since we are all One on this planet, our gut genomes simply need to adapt

I mean yeah just because it was a good time in my life, and pretty much the last time I felt like a care-free kid at all.

Yes. I had more sex/drugs in the summer of 2016 than any other period of my life, bar none.

The summer of PokemonGo was probably the liveliest various town centers across the US were for weeks on end, a blip of near-universal community engagement (albeit for trivial reasons) in the contemporary sea of individualized social media realities.

Sure! That's when like a dozen of us posters met in Philly for the 2016 DNC (and I had to beat off a cadre of fellow Bernie delegates for whom I wasn't pure enough)!

I had just started working at my law firm right before the summer of 2016 so it turned into an aggressive summer. I started dating a girl who was absolutely wild. I had the most fun with her in my life before things blew up a year later.

I enjoyed digging into my genealogy and watching EWTN show Pope Francis at the World Youth Week in Krakow.

Not in particular. The political outlook was bleak after Clinton and Trump won their primaries. That summer does not hold great nostalgic attachment, just a season passing by. That describes most Summers in my twenties.
