Franzl was not "recently elected", and he is not a JCP member.

I think he meant to say "Fritz".

Thank you for the info. Will the Midwest gubernatorial election be an true election or will it be an "election" in the sense that it has been for the last three years?

I believe it's a regular election.

Are We at the Height of Partisanship in Atlasia?

The NWA ponders this question.  Most cannot remember a time (although maybe some can) where the endorsement of a party or affiliation with a major party was so important.  Atlasia seems to be dominated by two major parties and a strong third party force.

So the NWA asks citizens the following questions:
Is this the height of partisanship in Atlasia?
If it is, is that a good thing for the game?
Do you consider the country to have 3 major parties or 2 major parties and a strong 3rd party force?

Just some things to ponder that will hopefully conjure up debate

I have not been here long enough to answer the first question, but I do not really see anything wrong with strong parties. As long as we don't become as partisan as they are in the real Congress, I don't see a problem.

Three major parties, mind you. Tongue The DA holds 4 senate seats, a governorship and a bunch of minor offices such as Assemblyman and Lt Governor.

Controversy in Dirty South
by South Park Conservative

Over the past week, the Dirty South has grown to become the center of controversy. An amendment to the constitution to give the region a legislature was initially deemed to be passed, but Vice-President Bacon King pointed out that amendments must have two-thirds support of the voters to pass. Former Senator DWTL suggested that the acting Governor SPC hold an emergency revote on the amendment, though Former Senator PiT, Vice-President Bacon King, and Former Governor AHDuke disagreed, suggesting it go on the August ballot.
Additionally, freshman Governor Daniel Adams may be facing competition for the Governor's plantation. Former Senator DWTL and Former Governor AHDuke have both expressed interest in running. There are currently no candidates for the open Lieutenant Governor's seat, as the current Lt. Governor SPC is running for Senate.

If/when NCYankee conducts a poll on any of these races, will you count them as credible for the competitiveness rating, or whatever you call it?

That could contribute to the rating. You are probably the favorite for the Midwest Governorship, but given the unpredictability of the region, I am not willing to make a definite rating on that.

I think it's a little early to say that the JCP will have two holds. While I certainly hope that's the case (as both a member of the party and a strong supporter of Marokai and Fritz), and do think that we can do it, you really never know with these elections. I'd put it at 1 DA, 1 RPP, 1 JCP, 2 toss-ups, myself.

Trying to spin down expectations so you can celebrate it as a huge victory when your party holds both seats? Wink
