Our southern neighbor has been likened to a sleeping volcano.
Hypothesize that the arising antiUS alliance ( China - Russia - France - Iran - Iraq - Syria - Bin Lauden - Yugoslavia / Serbia - Taliban Afghanistan - Sudan - Cuba - India - Malayasia) decide to use Mexico's problems to bring the US global hegemony down a peg or three:
1. Support of all of the above for the left of the PRD and its guerilla allies internally in Mexico - $, cadre, training, guns, the whole 9 yards - staged through Central America to sterilize it.
2. Support for the dinosaur wing of the PRI in a return to semiLeninist autarchy.
3. Support for the Mexican narco syndicates with enough Asian product to flood the US plus 1st rate weapons, speznatz mercs and instructors.
4. Support for the ultranationist wing of the internal US Mexican diaspora in their desire of reunification with Mexico to undo the crimes of 1836 and 1848 - Texas, California, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Arizona back under Mexico. Guns and cadre for the violent. $ for the rabble rousers. A worldwide political - informational offesniev through the UN and NGO's and press / media to declare the US SouthWest a 'zone of colonial oppression'.
5. Seperate waves of economic sabatoge directed against the vulnerable US interior by unemployed cold war spooks.
I am not asking for a probability accessment but rather a what if...we've been the big boy on the block here since 1848, uncontested since the 1890's. What is that were really to change, not in right wing paranoid fantasies, but in cold fact. What sort of America emerges? What effect on internal culture and freedoms? On the hemisphere? On the world?
