I find his absolute hatred of Nader very amusing.

You forgot crime and suburbs. I find this one most interesting because it is particularly relavant where I live. Memphis and its suburbs are really hostile to one another. The DeSoto County people hate Memphis even more than BRTD hates suburbs.

The worst one is his collective dislike of WalterMitty and everything he stands for.

Ralph Nader is probably the most completely irrational of all this quirky hatreds.

What's irrational about it? It's very similar to most people on DU or DailyKos.

It was a tough choice. I was going to vote Other, than place in when he would argue with Phil over Santorum, but I decided to go with Opebo.

That's more Phil's obsession than mine.

No, I don't think so. You bring him and the 2006 loss up a great deal (especially with Walter). I may have an obsession but the left is even worse. It's kind of funny - they beat the guy and their victory was huge yet they still go on about him.

Collective?  Is BRTD a group of people?

Anyway, I like WalterMitty individually, but I certainly dislike all that he stands for.

So, out of the choices here, my favorite is myself, but none of these are 'over' fascinations.

Here's one for you - His Family Guy threads. I love when he's in the middle of watching it and reports back to the forum with "OMG HILARIOUS EPISODE BUT DID ANYONE UNDERSTAND THE GERALD FORD REFERERENCE?!"

Especially funny because I am starting to watch the show and I'm appreciating the randomness of it.

You remember exactly how many times you've made those topics? Interesting.

Whatever the case, I find them even more amusing now since I consider myself a new fan of the show.

I remember the Family Guy threads, but there were usually just "OMG BUSH GOT DISSED SO HARD!"

Sopranos, Family Guy, Lost... Did you not own a TV before the past few months, Phil?

Sopranos, Family Guy, Lost... Did you not own a TV before the past few months, Phil?

Here's the deal with me - I actually start off hating every show I am now obsessed with. It's just the way I work. I remember when I would go down the basement and get angry that my Mom was watching that stupid LOST show again (I only fell in love with LOST after I was basically forced to watch the season open because I had nothing else to do). I remember hating Whose Line is it Anyway? with a passion and then, after hearing about it all the time from my friends, I began to watch and became a fan.

The point - I don't like the hype that these shows generate at first. My one friend was constantly on my case about watching Family Guy. One night last week I was bored and decided to watch. It's hilarious. I hate the Sopranos but fell into the hype about the season finale (which I missed) but started watching the repeats on A&E. I hate everything that the Sopranos stand for but have become addicted to the show. So...yeah...that's my reasoning.

I have a fairly mild case of eidetic memory, which lets me remember stuff like that. Point though is it's hardly one of my "over-fascinations".
