Dude, that is like saying a soldier can't be elected because he's killed someone.  I know I know, it's not the same thing but Kennedy made a mistake one night and a girl died in the process.  It's not all his fault.  She knew he was drunk, butt she rode with him anyway.  He regrets his mistake to this day.
Did you honestly equate Ted Kennedy driving off a bridge drunk to a brave soldier killing the enemy?  Was Mary Jo part of al-Qaeda or something?

No, I'm just stating the fact that you can not blame him entirely for an ACCIDENT.

What about the part where he swam home, than slept before calling the cops? Accident as well?

I agree with DWTL, Kennedy gets swamped. There is no way he was going to get elected President after that, ever.

LOL, was that intentional?

Would'nt you be in shock after something like that?  Or have you never been in a car accident or known anyone who has?  One of my friends was in a car accident near her house, got out and walked home.
He wasn't too shocked to go home and contact his lawyer and leave the scene of the accident without Mary Jo

O, I'm not saying Kennedy would win.  I just think he would do at least a little better than Carter did.

Hi, hey there, how ya doing?

I agree that that was the worst mistake of his life and it was stupid, however I like Ted Kennedy quite alot despite this enourmous mistake due to his views on issues.

Yeah, I heard that Charlie Manson favored a flat tax, probably should mount a write-in campaign for him

Are you stupid or do you just not understand the definition of murderer?

Yeah, murder is killing another person intentionally, Ted Kennedy's action constitute (I don't want to go above your head but) depraved indifference.
