I dont see Hamilton being Prime Minister as that far fetched, for a good time he was argueably the most powerful man in the US as leader of the federalist party and had he wanted it (and been born in the country) he could have been president.

With a monarchy I could see America play a much larger role as an imperial power, it would be interesting to see where in the World the US colonizes...

Very interesting--keep up the good work.

I have just one quibble:  if a swollen Kingdom of America declared war on Mexico, wouldn't Britain  and France intervene to preserve the balance of power in the New World? (At least a naval blockade of American ports seems likely).

well, we went to war against Mexico anyways in the 1840's, so I dont see why the Brisish and French would act any differently towards the US.

By the way, this is a GREAT timeline, keep it up.

I would think also that the small population of Canada relative to the rest of the country would simply make it unlikely that a leader would emerge, much as it is unlikely for a US President to be elected from, say, Kansas. Additionally, the incorporation of Ontario and Quebec into the Union would reduce the impetus to develop urban centers such as Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal as they would not serve as the major business hubs of a nation the way they did in Canada, meaning that Ontario and Quebec are probably less populous than in real history.

agreed, the likelyhood that a Canadian would be PM would be quite small simply because Canadian provinces would have little effect in the national vote because of their relatively small population

When will the Arizona/New Mexico/Oklahoma place become a state?

Incredible work. You should talk to a publisher and work on an actual novel.

more importantly what has happened to Washington/Oregon???

Yea, they should start a war over it. Trust me guys, it'd be worth it.

And I don't want to be a British subject when I'm born 80 years from now.

Agreed, I dont want my teeth to be in bad order, also I would still not have a cool british accent

I have a feeling that whichever side the US joins would win WW1, we just have too many men to really be beaten if the US has significant allies.

Well, Roosevelt never traveled to South America, as he was in the Liberal Party leadership during that time, in my timeline. Roosevelt himself wrote that the trip had cost him ten years of life. So we'll see. Wink

Well I hope Teddy lives beyond January 1919 Smiley. Long Live the PM!

Not being president would probably had made it possible for him to live longer, I would think that the pressure of his presidential years just served to shorten his life.

The Ottos still have Sudan, right? I would say the U.S. would have Nambia, Nigeria, South Africa and Kenya, right? Can the Italians take Libya, the Germans, Algeria and the Turks, Eygpt and Sudan? and the Ottomans, Americans and Germans take connectable peices of the Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Chad and the rest of the Sahara? and the Germans take the Congo.

Remember by this time South Africa was independent, also I think that the Ottomans did not have any of Africa, they were regulated to Turkey + some parts of Iraq, Syria, and islands in the Mediterranean. Right Lief?

Oh and was there an Armenian genocide in this timeline?

I'll try to update this weekend, though I'm spending the entire day campaigning for Obama. But I'll try.

The campaign is a higher cause, we can wait. Smiley
