The question I have is this: the song Naso references is insanely patriotic; how in the world is it risky?  A risky song is one that addresses things that people don't want to talk about, not one that is all "rah rah America".

Off Wikipedia...

Emo may also describe emo music or a general emotional state (as in to "feel emo"). It is also (sometimes pejoratively) used to identify someone who fits a particular emo stereotype or category or someone who is overly-emotional.

Both TommyC and Gporter fit this defination.

Stop saying mean things about me.  Please.  That's not nice.  I hate people who are mean.  Don't separate me please.  I don't want to be catorgorized.   I HATE BEING CALLED A DRAMA QUEEN.  IT OFFENDS ME.

I don't think that Tommy is quite aware of the irony here.

I doubt we'll ever have an openly gay president.

100 years ago, nobody would have thought we'd be this close to having an openly black or an openly female president.

Given the one drop of blood rule and all that, openly black I can understand, but openly female?

I was just being silly. Tongue

Given that we have two people named "MarkWarner08" just right here on this forum, it's not a complete guarantee that those two are the same person just because their names are the same.

Then again, how many people do you know who actually support Lou Dobbs? Tongue

I don't think LouDobbs08 should be banned for being a Neo-Nazi.  As long as he doesn't attack other members because of his ideology, then he should be allowed to hold his viewpoints.

I welcome the Aryans, white nationalists, and neo-Nazis to the forum and applaud their exercise of the right to freedom of speech.  It is easy to agree with freedom of speech until you find an ideology you disagree with.

I actually have nothing against interracial marriage. If people in love wish to marry, it shouldn't be an issue what their racial ethnicity is.

That must be why you went out of your way to post a topic all on how you disapproved of interracial marriage, then.

It's the gift that keeps giving:

Paul's anti-war. Hillary only is for conviniance. if the war were popular she'd be pro-war. her advantage would be the establishment, but I think people are finally waking up, and don't want to see another illuminati in the White House.

Naso, what part of Ohio do you live in? Do Ohioan men come in different genders or something?

Thankfully, he's in the directly opposite side of the state to myself.  Here in the southwest corner, the men are ALL MAN, and rugged to boot.

I'm sorry to say that having pockmarks from acne scarring doesn't count as "rugged".

Well, now that I know that it has a lot of members, I guess I'll join up, given that I obviously now support racism.

This fact of course also rebukes Stark's point (which was very poor in the first place).

What was his point?  I didn't even understand.

The irony here is that no matter how much middle-class Americans complain about the rich getting richer, they're still in the top 5% globally.

And the real irony about it all, is that no matter how much middle-class Canadians complain about the rich getting richer, the world still says "OMG!  Are you American?"

I've read that five times now, but I still can't really understand what is meant by it.

You didn't get that America, Jr?

If it was intended to be an "America Jr." comment, it was one of the most oblique ones that I've ever seen.

Thanks to Gabu and Wikipedia, I now know who Jack Benny was.

You mean to tell me that wasn't actually a reference to him?  He was a comedian way back in the days of black and white television, and one of his things was to always repeatedly claim to be 39 even when everyone knew that he was much older than that.  One of my favorite lines from that running gag was him telling a woman, "This relationship will never work out.  You're 20 and I'm 39.  And in 40 years, you'll be 60 and I'll be 39."

If your reference wasn't intentional, it certainly bore a remarkable resemblance to that running gag of his. Tongue

Don't you have any patience? Anyway, why do you post obscure scenarios usually involving Ronald Reagan running for a third term, Ike Eisenhower running for a third term and now George H.W. Bush not raising taxes.

It has been a while since I have done Ike running for a third term and Reagan running for a third term. This is only the second scenario I have done with Bush not raising taxes. You must not know how to count, or one or two times is too many times to post a certain scenario. Gee, grow up.

Coming from gporter...

I like how he says it's "only' the second scenario with Bush not raising taxes.  Why would you ever do the same scenario twice?

Describing how a video of a woman taking her clothes off and then expressing support for Ron Paul affected his opinion of Ron Paul:

The comedy comes not so much from the content of the post but from its origins.

Letter To The Editor

Learn your acronyms

I've never even heard that acronym, and from the looks of it others haven't either. In fact if you look up LTTE on google you get the terrorist group for at least five pages (I stopped there) and not one letter to the editor. So I suggest YOU learn YOUR acronyms.

Oh stop sweating the small stuff.  Just answer the damn question.  John Dibble.. quit showing off your brainy smarty smartness and general agreeableness.  I despise yellow.  Go climb a tree.

OK! THAT SOUNDS FUN!

On the weirdest letters to the editor people have read:

Another was from some right-winger attacking tenants because "toilets don't get stopped up for no reason."

You heard it here first: only right-wingers care about stopped up toilets.
