According to whom?  We just had the one poll (by ARG) in which Romney had a huge lead.  Other than that, Giuliani has led in more polls than Romney has in the state, though Romney has been doing better recently:

There seems to be some sort of obsession with the idea that voters actually remember that Romney's father was Governor in Michigan about half a century ago, which is ridiculous. They'd have to be in their 70s at least to remember his governorship, and they'd have to have been  paying attention to politics in their 20s (and have lived in Michigan for that whole time).

The Romney advantage in Michigan has nothing to do with the general electorate, but with organization and money.  Family members make terrific volunteers (as do those 70 year olds, now that I think of it).
