Mr. Governor, I'd like to welcome you to hte Office of the Mideast Governor.  You'll enjoy this room, and it's phone extension of 666 - feel free to change that one if you want.

Good luck in your term - I wish you the very best.

Also - I'm going to need you to certify the election results when the polls close, and then tell me so that I can lock the threads.

Count the AYE's, NAY's, abstains, make sure nobody edited the ballot, make sure all the voters are legal voters.  Then write that all down in a post.  I'll put hte results up on the wiki.  Do you have a wiki account?  If not - register for one.

Also, you need to be sworn in here: https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=36934.165 while saying "I, [state name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of [state office name] and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the Mideast Region, so help me Dave."

I've just certified the results for the ballot for October.  I'd like to thank everyone for their support for the two propositions up for vote.  Both passed, one had a single dissenter.  I'd also like to congratulate Sensei as our region's new senator.  I'd also like to congratulate all the other recently elected officials including President Colin Wixted.  I am saddened however by the reinstating of the death penalty in the Southeast.  I hope the voters will try to overturn this sometime in the future.

I'd just like to say that I am VERY disappointed in the poor turnout for the Regional election, but it was good to see that we had a better turnout in the Federal election.

Governor, when do you plan on nominating a Lt. Governor, now that the 10th Amendment has passed?

Distinguished? I seem to recall him making a ham-fisted attempt at rigging a referendum.

End to Districts. He PM'd people telling them to consciously go back in the booth and invalidate their vote to end districts.

not in particular, but it should be frowned upon, whatever you decide to call it.

I agree that it was out of line.  But it was not rigging - what I did was not illegal, and I find it ironic that I am being accused by a former Senator who deleted his vote and revoted to avoid invalidating his vote.

EDIT: You know, you don't have to have this confirmation on the weekend, but this needs to happen - we can't keep going on without an without a Lt. Governor - even if you decide not to nominate me, it needs to be voted on soon.

FTR, I strongly support Inks for Lieutant Governor here.  He's very strong when it comes to the "important" stuff, namely drumming up voters for regional elections and making sure booths get opened and closed on time.

Mideasterners already have a strong progressive in the Governor's office.  They shouldn't need to worry about Inks' positions on the issues—what's important is that he's competently able to do the job.

Whether what you did was illegal or not is irrelevant (though it certainly should be illegal, and in the real world the practice of intimidation generally is).

Do you deny trying to manipulate the results of a referendum? Manipulating election results is sometimes known as "rigging" them.
