You can't compare polls from different firms like that. They have different methodologies

Obama has now surpassed Edwards for 2nd place in Iowa in pollster.com's running poll average:

If you mean 4 years ago, the answer is yes.  He was in 3rd place in Iowa from about August to December of 2003.
