The better lines of response would be

a) "Waller is a Supreme Court justice, blah blah, may throw partiality into question if there's a dispute, blah blah, etc"

b) "Mississippi Republicans thought Mike Espy was a crook until he cozied up to them"

But seriously.. Eaves best hope is to get the support of the people like Waller and Dale.

And that doesn't appear to be happening.

This has got to be the election with the worst choices ever. You can either vote for the super-conservative religious nut or the shady tobacco lobbyist.

Today, most people think he has a chance (albeit a small one).  He is doing an ok job of courting white voters.

That's the most creative use of "most people" I've ever seen.  Usually, "most people" means more than two or three.

Well, I guess it was possible that Bret Schundler could have won too.  All it would have taken is the construction of a smart nuclear bomb capable of taking out only the counties of Hudson, Essex, and Camden.

Most politicos in MS think it's possible that Eaves will win.  Not likely, but possible.

Do most politicos in MS having running water or public sanitation yet?

Ideas like lowering the grocery tax and raising the cigarettes tax, massively increasing public school/college funding so we don't have to be last anymore, and providing health insurance to every child in Mississippi are hardly "super-conservative" ideas.

Talking about Jesus et al. every ad is not a secular-liberal ideal.

He's already given a blanket endorsement to the entire Republican party, silly.

Except Larry Craig.  And Tom Foley.  And - sh*t, this list is actually pretty long.

Your avatar color is obviously the correct one, and if anyone ever gives you a hard time about it, I will jump to your defense.

harry, if oyour state is to ever get out of the ditch, it needs the pro-business policies of haley barbour, not the soapbox populism of mark david whathisname.

No, the way Mississippi will "get out of the ditch" is increased spending on education, a tax cut on groceries, a tax hike on cigarettes, providing health insurance to ALL Mississippi children, and having a governor who puts the interest of the people ahead of the interests of big oil, big tobacco, and big insurance.

These might all be good things, but you are deluding yourself if you think that they well get Mississippi out of "the ditch".
