You do know that most people in Bethnal Green and Bow aren't Asian? (Even though most of his voters there probably are).

What are they? I always though Bethnal Green and Bow was another Asian-stronghold of London?

He's been speaking in that brogue for years ever since he was the MP for BaghdadGlasgow Kelvin. It's a poor attempt at a middle class Glasgow Asian accent (which is odd considering they probably wouldn't vote for him) but has became more pronounced since his campaign in BG&B.

For the record I shook his hand when he visited my old school (it was in his constituency)

It is, but they're still not a majority. He probably got the vast majority of the Asian vote in 2005, but he also only barely broke 1/3 of the overall vote.

He probably got the vast majority of the Asian vote in 2005,

No probably about it. Ethnic polarisation in Tower Hamlets reached lows not seen since LCC elections in the early '30's that year. Which is one reason why even people who aren't partisan Labourites should be pleased with the 2006 borough elections there.

Edit: or should that be "reached highs"? Either way...

When Galloway won in 2005, I considered throwing something at the screen.
