I go to Canada every year, and the trip is getting 10% more expensive than prior years.
I was tellling a friend a month or so ago about this. I'd had a meeting with my bank saying if I could somehow take my savings account and have it expressed in euros or pounds. They told me no. I was then telling him about the value of the dollar declining, how it was a big change, and told him of a bit I once saw in the movie Canadian Bacon. John Candy's character gets pulled over by a Canadian policeman (Dan Aykroyd). Aykroyd fines Candy for not having the anti-Canadian grafitti on the side of his truck in both English and French. The fine is something like 15,000 Canadian dollars. Which Aykroyd then says: "In American money, about ten bucks."
Now it's $1.10 for one loonie. How times change.
