This amuses me since several months back when the Fred Thompson candidacy was discussed I joked (not knowing that he was) that if Chuck Norris was a Republican they would want him to run.  LOL ... ahhh Republicans are so funny.  If they can't get Walker Texas Ranger they will go for the guy he endorses.

"Here's a Chuck Norris fact you may not know. If Chuck Norris endorses you and appears in one of your campaign's TV ads, you take the lead in an Iowa poll and your Web server crashes. That's what happened to Mike Huckabee, the shrewder-than-you-realize former Arkansas governor (sound familiar?) who has become a major player in the tight Republican presidential race. The ad opens with Huckabee deadpanning: "My plan to secure the border? Two words: Chuck Norris." The camera moves back to reveal the Man Himself, who praises Huckabee as a solid, gun-loving, IRS-loathing conservative. Huckabee adds a twist at the end. "I approved this message ... So did Chuck." The ad, which ran in Iowa on cable for a week, has generated an astonishing 1.5 million YouTube views and clogged the campaign's Web site. Huckabee was rising in Iowa even before the ad, but he took the lead with Chuck as Huckster."  MORE IN THE LINK

Chuck Norris doesn't endorse. He tells America how it's gonna be.

That's literally my favorite thing that Huckabee ever said.

(Which doesn't exactly bode well for me voting for him.)

From Frank Newport's writeup on the latest Gallup poll:

http://blogs.usatoday.com/gallup/2007/12/top-ten-things.html

"The top five responses among those who did associate something with Huckabee: 1. I like him 2. He is a rising star, becoming more popular 3. Christian values, religious 4. Down to earth, nice guy 5. Conservative........One percent of Americans say Huckabee is amusing and funny.  One percent say that "Chuck Norris" comes to mind when they think of Huckabee."
