If Rudy Giuliani wins the Republican Presidential nomination, will it change the face of the Republican Party and move it slightly to the left?

No, not really. He's only nominally to the 'left' of the party on 'Moral Issues', and on Economics, Civil Liberties and Foreign Policy he's more right-wing (or at least neo-Conservative) than Bush. In any case, I seriously doubt he'll win the nomination.

He's not going to win the nomination but if he did AND he won the general I suspect he could at least temporarily save the "Yankee Republican" from extinction.  Simply winning the nomination wouldn't be enough.  If he lost the general everyone would say it was because he strayed too far from the base and it would probably drive the party even further to the right.
