(West Branch, Iowa)

(PBrunsel, standing behind a podium, speaks in front of a small crowd in the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library Auditorium)

PBrunsel: I have a brief statement to be made on the Lieutenant Governorship.

Today I announce I will not accept the nomination of my party for the Lieutenant Governorship of the Midwest.

I do this not to let down Mr. Reganfan, who will make a great Governor for the Midwest, but to live up to what I have always said. I oppose small and insignificant positions in Government. They make the government too confusing and too large. When I ran for Senator from District 3 I said I would introduce legislation outlawing such positions as Lieutenant Governor. I would not be representing what I myself have said if I was to accept the Republican Nomination for Lieutenant Governor.

I should hope Reaganfan will understand my decision. I will however be Mr. Reaganfan’s Campaign Manager. I will quickly reorganize his campaign so victory can be achieved.

Thank you for your time, and may God bless Atlasia.

(PBrunsel leaves the podium as cameras flash.)

Well I wasn't aware that as a Senator you would get rid of the Lt. Governor post.

Given your previous statements you made the right decision and I applaud you for it.

I still believe you should be the candidate, not Reaganfan, you would be a much worthier opponent.

Thanks President Gustaf, I should have voted for you last June! Smiley

I will have to wait for December  to run for Governor again.

No, but my grandparents are farmers who support Senator Charles Grassley.

Smart career move!? PBrunsel is just doing what he believes is right, there is no other reason! Unlike others, PBrunsel never does anything just for political gain or safety, and for that I heartily applaud him.

I'll run it Texasgurl. I think you stand a good chance of winning your old Senate seat.

If it's not too much trouble PBrunsel, I'd like you to help run my campaign too.

But some good news is, the election is on September 18 so if you accept you won't have to start until after the Midterm Elections.

Ouch. Ouch. I feel that cold knife stabbing deeper in my FAULTS AND LOSSES BOX. I might as well just leave the forum. I will lose to Ilikeverin and PBrunsel will get more write-in votes. I am surprised and depressed.

Sorry Reaganfan, I can't go against my principles. I have always opposed big fantasy government.

I did not want to seem mean or ungrateful (for I am grateful you offered me both the Vice Presidency and the Lt. Governorship), but I have opposed positions like Lt. Governorships for so long that I can't take a position that I oppose.
