The debates start at 7 PM. The Republicans go first and then the Democrats. They didn't let Hunter, Keyes, Gravel or Kucinich in. It should be pretty interesting to see a Democratic debate with only four people on stage.

Kucinich was pretty pissed about being left out though.

4 people is perfect for the Democratic debate. If it's 90 minutes, then that's a considerable amount of time for each candidate.

Yeah, I believe they are both 90 minutes.

I'm assuming this is only going to be aired in New Hampshire?

Is there a link to where you can watch in on the web?

Prediction - Dems:

Clinton, Edwards attack Obama, who stays positive.

Richardson, I have no idea. Why the hell is he still running?

Prediction - GOP:

Romney attacks McCain, and pretends to be the change candidate - but a mean one. Sort of the Republican John Edwards.

McCain defends himself against Romney with flip-flopper charge; and goes after Paul on security.

Rudy also goes after Paul, and perhaps Romney. Talks about Hillary-and-Obama as if they're one entity largely represented by Hillary. (Hope I'm wrong, but that's my hunch).

Thompson flails randomly at Rudy, Romney, McCain, and Huck, and possibly goes for a confrontation with Paul or the moderator to recapture a moment. He's so lackluster that it's rarely been noticed, but after Romney he launches in-party attack sequences most often. Unlike Romney, they're sort of uncoordinated.

Huck stays positive, even if he gets attacked - which would only happen from Thompson.

Paul sort of rants a lot.

It's really stupid to waste time attacking Paul. None of these guys are going to win support from Paul - once you go Paul, you don't go back.

I actually think its a good idea for these guys to go after Paul. Most Republicans do see him as completely wrong on national security, so a candidate can get huge applause by bashing Paul at one of these things. That was Giuliani’s big moment at one of the first debates, and Huckabee got a lot of favorable coverage when he went after Paul. So their not trying to win Paul’s support I don’t think, as much as they are trying to flex their national security muscle by going after the easy punching bag in the room.

Prediction:

The word "change" will be used at least 4000 times for both debates.  Clinton will try and fail to be present herself as the candidate of change, but Edwards and Obama will come off in a better light.

Winner of the Dem. Debate: Obama

For the Republicans will essentially do the same.  Romney will argue he's the candidate for change, and Huckabee will try the same.  McCain brings up his experience and Fred Thompson falls asleep.

Winner for the Republicans: Huckabee

Well, the debate format sounds good. 45 minutes of real debating between the candidates is promised, and then 45 minutes of the traditional debating style.
