You do realize that the Democrats are rooting for your guy for reasons that are not good, right?

Desiring a brokered convention is a good and noble thing.

Yes - but I don't see us having a brokered convention.

If Rudy wins Florida, he will do very well on Super Tuesday. The media will call him the comeback kid and he will show how he handled a campaign in crisis and tout his strategy as working to a T. I don't think there will be a broken convention. We will either unite around McCain or Rudy. The rest have too many opposing forces.

What about nominating Romney and losing terribly? Can you see that?

No. A Romney win in Michigan will be to stop the McCain onslaught. Huck will win South Carolina, and we will have no frontrunner going into Florida. Rudy will win there and then go on to take the majority of Super Tuesday delegates.

So, there will be McCain, Romney, Hick or Rudy vs. Clinton or Romney.

I don't understand how Giuliani getting slaughtered in every pre-Florida state will result in him winning it just because the other states have all been won by different people. Nor do I see anywhere for Giuliani to go if he does win Florida, he'll take New York and then...? He's not going to get massive momentum for winning one state.

stop telling them such things, as long as they are helping a candidate that in any way hurts McCain we should encourage it and rejoice. Smiley

Conceivably, a win in Florida right before Super Tuesday would put him back into a tie for first nationally. That would allow him to win large states that he's always done better in that the national polls (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Illinois?, Massachusetts if Romney's out). From there, he keeps fighting, hopefully with enough delegates to win a brokered convention.

But, as we've seen this cycle, momentum doesn't seem to mean a whole lot...

Yes, because obviously Romney has showcased his outstanding ability to overpower his opponents thus far.
