This is a silly question; John Kerry will be running for re-election. Smiley

Seriously though, probably John Edwards, Howard Dean, Hillary Clinton, and Dennis Kucinich.  I'd predict that Edwards would win.

The only fear I have is that Edwards won't be President if Kerry wins or not...Edwards will end up like Lieberman in 08 primaries...

I doubt it.  Edwards oozes charisma and charm.  Lieberman... is Lieberman.

I could see that happening but it wouldn't be as strong as a candidacy as it was this past primary.

He'd have to start running in mid 2007. That means only about 2 years as a Senator and already a Presidential candidate?

John Edwards succeeded in doing so and pulling it off.

Edwards has been a Senator for about 6 years now, not 2 years. And last time I checked, he's running for VP, not President and still hasn't won that yet.

Wasn't he only in his first term?  I thought he was.

And I meant he was able to run a fairly successful campaign in the Democratic primary, given that he was easily in second place, not that he became President.

Yes he's in his first term but he's been in the Senate for almost 6 years now. Obama would only be a Senator for about a year and a half or two years if he ran in '08.

Gore will never run again.

Dean and/or Kucinich may run, but will never get nominated.

Obama- 2012, maybe, at the earliest.

If Kerry loses this time, I say it will between Hillary and John Edwards for the Democrat nomination in 08.  Hard to say which one would get the nomination, I think it would be a real battle.

If Kerry loses this year, I can envisage the following Dems running in 2008:

John Edwards
Hillary Clinton
Evan Bayh
Bill Richardson
Mark Warner
John Breaux
Joseph Biden

Plus the usual array of fringe candidates (Sharpton, Kucinich, LaRouche, Vermin Supreme, et al).

Biden is going to be 66 in 2008 (I don't think he'll run for President at that age) and I believe Breaux (my second favorite Dem in the Senate Smiley ) is retiring from politics.

Hillary Clinton-and lose

to Barack Obama, with Edwards in Third.

John Edwards will be mentioned as a VP candidate but then be passed over to the public discovering his sex scandal during the Beijing Olympics, In which a olympian will win 8 gold medals.

Imagine if I said this three years ago, no one, and I mean no one, would believe me.
