Figured I'd post this early in case people didn't know about this debate.  Looks like it starts at 8pm Eastern and runs for two hours.  I can't find any info about which candidates they invited.  This will be the second to last Dem. debate before Super Tuesday (the last one being next week in CA).  There are no debates scheduled after that, as the race may very well be over in two weeks.  The GOP has two more debates as well (one in Florida on Thursday, and one in CA next week).

Bump.  I'm looking forward to some fireworks over Bill Clinton and the supposed "dirty tactics" of both sides in NV.

This Congressional Black Caucus debate will be critical for John Edwards since we all know how popular he is amongst African-Americans. He is truly the black candidate in this race.

I'm crossing my fingers that Hillary says something incredibly stupid.

You know... like calling Barack "macaca" then tearing off her clothing to reveal a Catwoman outfit... before jumping into the audience and harvesting the souls of her enemies.

Or something like that Wink

CNN story on the debate:

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/01/21/debate.preview/?iref=hpmostpop

Looks like, yes, just Clinton, Obama, and Edwards.  No Kucinich or Gravel.

Maybe I posted this too early.  In the old days, we'd have debate threads start a day in advance, and they'd still be on the front page when the debate started.  Now there's too much activity on the board these days.  I have to keep bumping this to keep it up there.

Anyway, anyone want to offer predictions for this debate?  How tense will it be between Clinton and Obama?

hopefully it will be less boring than the last one, which I found to be unwatchable.  Obama has to try to hit a home run tonight, obviously, but the candidates often defy logic with their tactics in these types on things.

I'm hoping Obama can give people what they want. Straight, specific answers, and a good debate performance. So far his debates have not been notable, though not horrible either. I'm hoping his performance tonight is stellar.

I still think Obama should come to the debate in a leather jacket, cross his arms, wear a baseball cap backwards, and look surly.

Hillary is modeling the uniform she'll make our children wear when they join her army.

It was the biggest issue voters voted for during the GOP Primary there.

At least we are having a issues debate, instead of the trash debate on MSNBC.

The podium thing is stupid with only 3 candidates. They look uncomfortable and squeezed together.

While both Obama and Clinton know how to policy wonk, Clinton is the better on the spot speaker. Obama appears slow. It almost makes me wish that Kucinich was taken seriously. He was a feisty debater.
