So, fascism will let liberalism win against neo-conservatism. I'll laugh my ass off.

This pretty much sounds like the kind of thing that won't happen and won't have an impact if it does. I'm reminded in part of Eugene McCarthy's campaign in 1976.

With the true Neo-Con John McCain heading the GOP nomination in 2008, Ron Paul sees someone completely abased from what he stands for on foreign Republican policy.  When McCain gets the nod as the Republican nominee I believe it will stir the blood inside the "Robert Taft Republican" Paul and he will sling himself into this race and run a bitter campaign against Mr. McCain.  That would all but end his chances and furthermore, with the polling on the war showing around 30% general support there is even the chance that Congressman Ron Paul of Texas could gain more votes than McCain in the general and pull a Bull Moose Roosevelt on the GOP.

Gold backer....   Isolationist foreign policy.  Anti-immigration...even anti-civil rights.  This man is "Old Guard" and the young crowd likes him because they only know of his stance on the war and they think he's a hippy.

WRONG...the man is brilliant and keenly deceptive and would have a better showing than Ross Perot.  If he gets the endorsement of the Minutemen that would deliver a crushing blow to the pro-amnesty McCain.
Could you only imagine what that would do to convential politics?

Don't you think Paul has already thought of this!  He waiting in the wings like a lion waiting to attack the pink elephant in the room...McCain!

Of course Ron Paul is right.  No doubt empires crumble under their own weight.  By the time you're an old man America will be like a forty-year-old former high school quarterback reliving his glory days.  But his reality-based campaign just isn't going anywhere.  Sad, but true.  The wide-angle view is that current circumstances, foreign and domestic, just don't favor the republicans anyway.  He's certainly the best of the lot, but even if Paul were the nominee he'd have to shake off some of the more traditionalist elements of his rhetoric.  I forgive them, but others won't.

Your best is to recognize these facts.  Vote for Paul in your primary, of course.  Spread the Love.  Do what you can.  But, in the end, be prepared for some schmuck like McCain to win the GOP primary and then lose the general election.  Might as well do what you can to help the opponents make a decent choice.  If your state has open primaries, that is.  Something to think about.

Chin up, man.  It's only politics.  And frankly, Ron Paul will keep his seat and continue to be a voice of reason in the US Congress.  Don't forget that.

Love is but the song we sing,
And fear's the way we die
You can make the mountains ring
Or make the angels cry
Know the dove is on the wing
And you need not know why
C'mon people now,
Smile on your brother
Ev'rybody get together
Try and love one another
right now

it would of been a great opportunity but he would of had to give up his house seat knowing he would not win. that vote likely be split between Baldwin and Barr.
