There is a smear campaign on the internet stating Obama is  a Muslim.

Who do you believe could be behind this campaign?

Who has the motive to attack Obama? Who fared poorly in Iowa? Who has a notorious attack dog as her husband?

As much as I dislike and mistrust the Clintons I don't think this one can be attributed to them.  The whole Muslim rumor started long before Obama became a real threat to the Clintons.  This has been circulating on and off ever since Obama announced he was running and back then everyone still thought she was the inevitable nominee.  People have known about his middle name and the madrassas forever now though so the topic has been beaten to death and he has denied it multiple times now.  Its not like its breaking news.  The only people who still buy into it are racists and they were gonna vote against him anyways.

The Clintons, dirty campaigners as they are, wouldn't risk being connected to something like this.

This has been going on ever since the Republican Party first heard of Obama's middle name.

Obama's middle name...!!!

I would laugh so much if that was not the reality.

How is it possible to connect what represents Saddam and what represents Obama just cause of this?!?

Clearly, peoples who go in this way of thinking must be so deeply fool and conviced of seing Obama as a "devil on Earth" that I don't see the usefulness of making such a link. To me, the more that peoples who spread this can win, it is the boomerang which can come back in their face.

I first got the spam email when Obama was running against Alan Keyes.  It came from a guy who used to spam me all kinds of stuff from various right wing web sites.  He sent me emails in 2000 suggesting Al Gore blamed Christians for the sorry state of the environment and that Hillary Clinton was a practicing Wiccan witch.

I think this stuff originates in the Evangelical subculture with nuts like Randall Terry, Constance Cumby and Gary North.

The right wing started it, but it's the obvious people who benefit from it who are promulgating it at present.  What say you, Bob Kerrey?
