If you were a Warner/Bayh fan and wanted to see this ticket in 2012 then you should vote for republican in 2008.  With a democrat victory in 2008, the 2 names mentioned above would probably never be president or you would have to wait 8 to 12 years.  By then some other democrat would be on the rise.
The above ticket would probably challenge McCain's VP.  McCain would probably only serve 1 term due to his age.

I suggest Warner/Bayh fans think about this hard.

The Cliton haters back in 2004 had NO BRAINS.  If they were smart enough they would of voted for Kerry, with a Kerry victory, Cliton would of been old news by 2012, 2016.

Mark Warner and Evan Bayh - two solid, aggressively competent technocratic Democrats from red states without a gallon of partisan Kool-Aid to offer between the two of them.

Probably a pipe dream.  Democratic primaries just don't work that way.

Why does everyone think McCain would only serve one term because of his age? Let's not forget Ronald Reagan was re-elected in a near 50-state sweep when he was 75 years old

He will only serve one term because he will get booted out of office, by Barrack Obama, or another charismatic Liberal in 2012.

McCain will only serve one term and then Giuliani will challenge Warner/Obama in 2012. Warner is one that could win. He reminds me of a "New Democrat" that Clinton championed in the 1990s.

I'm a fan of both, but prefer Warner more. And I was also hoping that the Democrat ticket would be Warner/Bayh this year back in 2006.

A Mark Warner candidacy in 2012 would be the one advantage of a Republican victory this fall. Add Sherrod Brown to the ticket as Vice President and you have a winning ticket.

I disagree. If John McCain is elected President this year, I think the Democrats will nominate a centrist figure come 2012 after losing three Presidential elections in a row.

If McCain beats Hillary, then in 2011-2 Warner does to Obama what in 2007-8 Obama has done to Edwards.  Should Obama lose big on Super Tuesday the first thing he should do is tell Hillary not to let Warner speak at the convention.

But wait, who in 2012 would be what Hillary is in 2008?  Teresa Heinz?  Walter Mondale?  Bess Truman?  I will keep working on this...

He was 69 when first elected. McCain will only be one year younger than Reagan was coming into his first.

Surely Giuliani's goose is cooked after proving he doesn't have the political sense God gave him this time around? And would Obama not be entirely too much voltage on the bottom of a Warner ticket?

The Democrats might nominate Warner, but not both Warner and Bayh. They'd have to nominate someone else, maybe some Senator from a blue state would make a good choice(probably not the New England area, though, Dodd may be a little old )

He's a bit more liberal than the mainstream would like(I read he was a maverick once like McCain), but yes, I think he might be a good choice since he's from a swing state

Me too!  I'd love it.

Warner-Feingold or Warner-Brown (Sherrod, not Jerry -- LOL)
