Creation of a National Public Radio Bill

1. The President, when applicants are available, shall appoint a Head of the National Public Radio Station.
2. The position is responsible for recording events that happen in Atlasia without bias or opinion.

I like the idea of this bill. However, I would like to be certain before we pass it that there are people (preferably multiple people so as to allow for future replacements, but at least one person) interested in running the Atlasian NPR.

I think I have the same exact concerns, though the spoken word is not exactly preferable to the written word when it comes to recording the events here for posterity.

I can carry a part of the load.

if we have enough people willing to step up and record audio news, then that would be great. But we probably won't. It's good legislation, though, and it ought to be considered again if not passed at this juncture.

Theres no fear in passing it as far as volunteers are concerned, because the bil only requires we have an NPR when there is a willing person. I know that loophole means there will be gaps in history, but we have a wiki that says that Afleitch is currently running for VP with Hugh! We need something to preserve our history! A single thread of what is happening, and simply facts, will at least allow for referencing and for historical review.

We could just provide a transcript...

To clarify, my intention was for it to simply be posted in a pinned thread, not recorded by audio, though the important ones can be, I suppose. It would give it some life.

ok. I would like to add a clause

3. The nominee for Head of the National Public Radio must be confirmed in the Senate by a simple majority.

As far as I'm aware, the NPR is maintained by the National Endowment for the Humanities, which is currently receiving full funding.

I'd back that. I support the idea of an NPR in principle.

Good idea, but I prefer the name 'Radio Atlasia'. Has a nice ring to it. Familiar, almost.

In case this wasn't clear enough, we already have NPR.

The rest of the funding is covered by listener donations
