Big tornadoes with big damages on four of the south states, three of them chose Huckabee.

When there was Katrina, some said that it was a "punishment from God" to punish what USA are becoming...

Hmm, do you think this time "God" wanted to punish states who chose Huckabee?

If yes, why?

Because Huckabee is a bad candidate for "God"?

Or the opposite, did "God", to show what could happen if USA don't choose Huckabee, His candidate, punish His own states, the south ones, which He knows will remain faithfull to Him, "God"?

Or, did "God", to show that we should not care so much about Huckabee and so that we shouldn't put faith in policy, wanted to punish these states?

Other reason for a punishment from "God"?

Some will think: What a joke topic!

Personally I am really far from these "God's" ways of thinking but I respect the faith of the others, sorry if I shocked some.

I just think that reactions to such a topic could be interesting.

Enjoy!

Perhaps God was trying to wipe out states where bad grammar is prevalent.

Or maybe he's trying to smite smug southerners who don't understand that non-native speakers of english don't always have flawless grammar.  Smiley  But for real, I know Tennessee was getting it yesterday.. hopefully everyone is okay in your neck of the woods.

Everyone is fine in my world, though it was a tense, long night.

Fair enough, but I'm a smug English teacher, with actual grammar police credentials. I should have taken the poster more seriously, but, grammar aside, did you read it?

Interestingly, I have run into a few fundamentalist christians who have told me that God sent the hurricaine to destroy New Orleans to smite the homosexuals and depraved mardi gras partiers.

Of course, I don't believe that had anything to do with it: it's just normal gyrations of the earth's atmosphere made worse by global warming.

See... this is the difference between an English Teacher... which is what you are, and a Linguist, which is what I am... the linguist understands that there really is no such thing as "Blackboard Grammar" and that any fluently spoken human language is perfectly fine.

Either way, glad to here all is well.

I also don't give these sorts of "God's explanations" to these sorts of phenomena.

And by this post I also want to ensure the victims of these hurricanes of my respect, with the hope that neither them will be shocked by this topic.

Of course, when it happens to these people they are the first ones with their hands out claiming they are victims.  The sad part is, people like that make up about 1/4 of the Republican Party.

No, God was not angry, he just had some bad gas after partaking too much from his burrito tree. (I know if I was God, I'd make myself a burrito tree)

If I were God, I would like to see if I could create a stone so heavy I couldn't lift it.

Well, this is fairly easy to understand. Hillary won the TN primary. God has been a huge Obama guy since Barack ran against Bobby Rush a few years back. God and Barack are tight. God sent some HOPE for CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN but TN voters just weren't ready for UNITY and went with Hillary. Thus, tornado destruction.

Right, which is why the tornadoes hit Memphis in early afternoon, probably deflating the Obama vote.

God did kill them, but out of mercy, not punishment, to spare them from reading this thread.

Hey. Maybe. Probably Not.

I wonder what God looks like. I bet he is 7-foot-tall, has long grey/silver hair and carries a giant sword longer than he is.

Considering the two worst hit States, Arkansas and Tennessee voted for Hillary, I don't see why people should assume Huckabee was the cause for god's wrath.

No...

God is an average sized man with kind of messy, white, longish hair, a white beard, a bit of a hunched posture, who likes to fanatically crunch random statistics all day.  He has those crazy Scottish/Irish eyebrows that look like they're brushed upward, and he smokes a pipe.  He thinks Dr. Phil is just great.

Wanna know how I know?  I don't.. but wouldn't it be cool if God were like that?

No - and neither was Katrina.  Katrina the storm wasn't that bad.  The fact that it hit a city below sea level is what was bad.

Is this thread really necessary? I'm offended actually. I have friends that go to Union University. 7 were hospitalized, and one  is still in ICU.  These are the worst twisters to hit the US in 20 years by the way.
