They're getting close to matching the check that Bill wrote for Hillary.

Why does the involvement of ordinary people in politics make you sick?

Why does the involvement of ordinary people in politics make you sick?

Because this is not the involvement of ordinary people in politics. This is the domination of politics by Mammon.

Taking advantage of Hillary's cash crunch is a smart move on the part of Obama's campaign - I've always said that her campaign relied on her being an inevitable juggernaut. Pointing out she has to use her personal money and that he has managed to raise almost as much in a day or two puts a serious dent in that image.

Do you support government funded elections?

I'm not sure how manipulating people's emotions in order to get at their wallets is a good thing.
Though a sociological study (a proper one, not a normal sociological study) of the sort of people who throw their money in the general direction of American politicians would be interesting to see.

No. I support extremely strict spending caps.

The concern is how much money is spent rather than where it comes from (though after a certain point the two become hard to tell apart).

Contempt of Hillary Clinton + likability of Barack Obama (and positions) = $$$

Here is why.  All the other politician's get their money from Lobbyists and PAC's.  Except for Obama.  Funded by people who want to see change

But, as the title of this thread makes clear, he has rather a lot of money already. Why give even more?

As much as I'm aware that I'm funding a uselessly capitalistic system of "democracy," I'm also aware that it isn't going away in my lifetime.

And I really don't particularly care for Hillary Clinton, and Obama is a decent man, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

I was thinking like $20 to increase his donor numbers more than anything, but I doubt I'll do it.  I'd like to keep 100% of my political donations jokingly spiteful, since I'm one-for-one on that.

Contributing to the movement. I know kind of cheesy but I'm a sucker for this kind of stuff. Plus, I want to see Obama school Hillary in fund raising by even more than January.

This is hilarious, considering that Clinton's reasoning behind the cash injection was the financial edge of her opponent.  What this really shows is that, regardless of what she does, she can not compete financially with Barack Obama.

I can't think of any good way of responding to this in words, so I will give this picture instead:
