Do we want just one thread for each party for all of today's primaries and caucuses?  We've got WI & HI on the Dem. side, plus the nonbinding WA primary.  On the GOP side, we've got both WI & WA.  Rather than have 5 threads, should we go with the recent tradition of one thread for all of today's primaries/caucuses on the Dem. side and one thread for all of today's primaries/caucuses on the GOP side?

Voted in Oak Creek at 8:30 this morning, was voter 68 in my ward, but there were 2 wards so more like voter 150. Oak Creek is semi-republican, leaning R in presidential's but not to the same extent as other burbs.

My Fiance and I had no trouble registering, was very quick. Both paper and touchscreen (w/ printout) options, I went with paper.

My anecdotal call is that, of the 10-15 people in the place as I voted, 7 were under 30, one African American voter in her late 30's and maybe 2 people over 50. as we left more young people arrived. My neighborhood has a lot of apartment complexes, so this should be expected, but turnout seemed pretty steady.

Visibility in Milwaukee is all Obama... UWM is being blanketed by their volunteers... no Hillary presence at all, not even one sticker! others have told me of pretty high turnout in Madison and Milwaukee as well... Turnout on campuses appears to be high...

isn't fiance a term that applies to males and females?  I always thought it was.

Yes, but if it's a woman you spell it as fiancee, not fiance.

Actually, looking it up, that's correct fiance is masculine and finacee is feminine.

We have. Therefore it's not called "fiancee" anymore, but "freedom woman".

Reliable exit poll leaks never happen anymore until after 5pm (which I guess is just about now).  Still, it's a bit early.  Maybe within the next half hour or so.

Turnout reports from earlier today:

Low turnout in Dane County because of weather.  Milwaukee "steady" to "busy".  Waukesha County turnout "average"....Waukesha Municipal Clerk Tom Neill "said his office was holding to a 40 percent turnout projection."

http://blogs.wispolitics.com/election/2008/02/early-turnout-mixed-for-key-counties.html

Later in the day, "The potential for student votes to deeply impact the Wisconsin primary seems to be taking shape in Milwaukee, where City Election Commission Executive Director Sue Edman said turnout has been steadily busy at UW-Milwaukee, Milwaukee School of Engineering, and Marquette University."

I've been overhearing a lot of idiots that think you vote in both the Democratic and Republican primaries so I'm going to suspect there are a bunch of ballots in college's spoiled because people are stupid. Tongue
