Will only become vacant when Ebowed vacates it, ie by Friday 6th at the latest. Which would mean a by-election on the 12th to 15th.

Congratulations to Meekermariner on his entry into the Senate and to Hughento on his return to the Senate. Congratulations also to Phil and Ebowed on their election to the Presidency and Vice Presidency. And finally, congratulations to Sen. Sam Spade on his re-election.

I am honored to have been chosen by the people of the Northeast to serve another term in the Senate.

I am glad to see substantially increased turnout over the uncompetitive October Presidential election and hope that all those who voted this time will remain active participants in the day-to-day affairs of Atlasia.

Congrats that you accidentally forced a runoff because Everett neglected to cast a ballot for Senate when she bullet voted Keystone Phil.  Wink

No, not really.

I didn't know "Write-in: None of the Above" was a valid preference, anyway. Although it probably doesn't really matter if Xahar just goes for the D5 seat.

I think that it's fairly obvious what that meant. And I'll be running in the runoff, and if I lose (which is highly unlikely), I'll run for the D5 seat.

Indeed, it is not entirely clear what he meant.

There were three options available:
Counting it as NOTA vote.
Discounting the ballot (well, the Senatorial section of it) as invalid because voter intent could not be reasonably determined.
Counting it as a joke write-in for a "candidate" named "None of the Above".

The options are here listed in (my subjective) declining order of reasonableness, and it's worth pointing out that the first two have the same result ie a tie. The third would lead to a Friz victory though, and Friz or Culture King are perfectly free to challenge the result. We have an established legal procedure for that.

While Friz may do that, it is highly unlikely that CK will, as he has told me that he meant the first option.

Indeed the vote was meant to be "Non-of the above", as such I will not challenge the result. Though at the time I did not think that there would be a tie so I thought it really wouldn't matter. In the coming runoff I will vote for one of the two candidates.
