That's pretty much true anywhere.  Now try to live on that.  The dirty little secret of capitalism is that is must be designed and implemented by the State to keep subsistence just out of reach of some people.

The thing is, minimum wage was never meant to be a wage to be lived on, especially for any length of time.

Well that is foolish policy I'd like to see rectified.  And anyway I never mentioned 'minimum wage', which is a liberal policy.  I was talking about the iron rule of capitalist states that there must be a reserve army of unemployed.
