Most of the state closes at 9, El Paso closes at 10. Caucuses start shortly thereafter.

Multiple time zones:  El Paso (roughly) is 9:00 PM EST.  Rest of Texas is 8:00 PM EST.

Is this supposed to be a results thread for both parties?  We've always had separate Dem. and GOP results threads in the past.

I think the GOP race is at the point where it's probably unnecessary to have another thread for it.

They're celebrating being rid of you by extending voting for an hour.

I don't have CNN or any news channel, so I'm going to have to wing it entirely through the Internet and what you guys tell me from the news sources.  This means I won't be able to watch all the analysis.  Could I ask a couple of you to watch CNN and a couple to tune to the other two stations, please?  I'll have CNN.com on, but that's about it.

BTW, we are just a little over 80 minutes from Vermont closing.

MSNBC just released some exit poll numbers. The economy was the top issue in all four states but the Iraq War nearly tied it in Vermont (40%-36%).

Do you think Texas will officially be the state to give McCain the nomination (i.e. the 1191 needed delegates)?  According to CNN.com, he only needs 144 delegates to clinch it and there aren't enough in Ohio and Vermont to make that up, so it would have to be Texas, I guess.

It feels weird to have voted in the Oklahoma primary on February 5 and being down in Texas, though not voting, for their primary on March 4.

I just got back from the polls and they were definitely crowded for my area.  Clermont County appears to be a probable Clinton area but I did manage to see three or four Obama signs outside of my polling place.  After putting my Victoria Wulsin for Congress sign back in my car, I went inside and cast my ballot for Barack Obama.  According to a poll worker, the Democratic ballots apparently outnumbered the GOP by a large margin.  Hopefully this bodes well for November...

So they were talking on MSNBC about if she manages to win 3 of the 4 tonight, what is more important? The news headlines....or the actual mathematics of the situation that she is still behind in delegates. What do you think?

+no surprises for Vermont.

Vermont exit poll:

Obama 61.8%
Clinton 36.6%

More likely to win in November: 71% Obama, 26% Clinton
Most qualified commander in chief: 50% Obama, 43% Clinton
66% says Clinton has clear plan, 59% Obama

Clinton does better in debate watchers

I wonder how well Huckabee will do in Vermont, just for interest on how many Hick Republicans vs Moderate/Mainstream Republicans live there.
