So what's everyone's grand opinion, are the Democrats as a party committing suicide and cause McCain to win in November or does this not matter and the Democrat will still be the favorite to win the general?

Well, for most of the state, they actually started an hour ago.  But in most of the caucus states, the results didn't even start coming in until more than 1hr 30 min after caucus start time....in come cases much later than that.

Denton:

Obama 16,953
Clinton 11,543

Cameron:

Clinton 14,671
Obama 6,534

Galveston:

Obama 9,636
Clinton 9,391

So Obama leads early voting around 53-46, then, maybe 54-45. Which means that he should squeak by with about 51-48 if the exit polls were right and Sam is right that early voting is 40-50% of the votes. If it's closer to a quarter, the night may be very long.

Seems premature with such a close exit poll, but no surprise. Obama wins Newport County, as I predicted.
