I wonder how well Huckabee will do in Vermont, just for interest on how many Hick Republicans vs Moderate/Mainstream Republicans live there.

Sam Spade (or someone else).... So what counties to watch for in Ohio and Texas that may give an indication?

Eastern Texas is all I know, thats the swing part of the state.
The Panhandle should also be swingy because Hispanic voters there are Spanish and not Mexican.

No.  Even though Lubbock will be slightly interesting.
Why wouldn't it be?

Go look at the numbers in Western Oklahoma and transpose them to the Panhandle.  Probably will be less of an Edwards protest vote also. (not the 20-30% in some places)
Oh I see...
I thought the vote might resemble more Western rural voters, rather than OK.

Uh, why not? It's Cleveland.
Manufacturing. I thought it would be much closer if he won anyways.

Interesting regional breakdown in Ohio. Obama leads everywhere except the Northeast, where Clinton cleans up.
Er... isn't the Northeast Cleveland?
No Toledo, Sandusky etc.
Cleveland is seperate.

Yeah except the manufacturing workers in Cleveland are mostly black.
I thought it was more mixed....
Oh well, I haven't paying attention as much as I did during Super Tuesday.

Cleveland has a large black population (obviously) and the county itself has some rather upscale suburban areas mostly (IIRC) east of the city).
That makes sense I guess. For some reason I thought the suburbs would be mainly working class, rather than upscale, but I suppose Cleveland still retains its prominence to an extent.

Aren't there also a good amount of ethnics there (thinking Kucinich's CD).
Oh yeah like the Eastern European Catholics. I would expect them to go for Clinton though.

All gone. Most of it anyway. There's a reason why the rust belt is called that.

(actually there are still about 80,000 manufacturing jobs left in that county. But that's nothing on what was the case just a few decades back and about 20,000 less than was the case in 2000).

Of course but Manufacturing workers have heavy turnout and that is still a big chunk of the county

Oui. Will be interesting to see how different the results are in the 10th and 11th CDs.
Yeah especially to see how Catholic and Orthodox ethnic Eastern Europeans vote, compared to those in MA.

How bad is it there?  Up here in Detroit, we're getting snow, but it's nothing a Michigander (or Ohian) isn't used to.
Supposevly its Ice Rain, Sleet, and Snow. It sounds pretty bad...

Interesting results from Texas....
It looks like a heavily Hispanic county in Texas voted for Clinton super narrowily.

No, she currently has a narrow lead in the county. It's barely in.
2% is pretty dang narrow.

Dallas suburbs heavily for Obama. The city is still not in, however.

Tarrant County is Ft Worth, not Dallas suburbs.
Yeah, I think Ft Worth is more wealthy however.

Obama is winning in Dallas...
I think it might be over in Texas, if it keeps going this way in Houston, and if he makes it close in El Paso and San Antonio.
