The reason Clinton supporters are angry with the obama camp is because he has won caucuses that are full of radical psyhcs that elected kerry. this wing of the deomcratic party that refuses put one cent into florida for the past 8 years ensuring that it becomes another texas.

why do these nutters have so much power in the party.

OBAMA CANT JUST CANT CARRY A BIG STATE. HE WILL GET CRUSHED IN THE GENERAL.

hillary can win arkansas. ohio. west virginia. nevada. new mexico. she has pennslvania, michigan in the bag. she can win

obama cant. these are the people who thought kerry could win.

Putting your entire argument into capital letters doesn't make it any more valid...in fact...it seems that on these boards, leaving it entirely lower case works better.

Take a look at the SUSA 50-state polls before you pontificate on general election viability.  Granted, we're far out from the election, but there just doesn't seem to be any evidence that Clinton has some Electoral College advantage over Obama, at least at this time.

Also, more people have voted for Obama than for Clinton, so I'm not sure what your point is.

By your bizarre logic, I guess you can kiss goodbye to Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Washington, Maryland, Delaware, Connecticut, Vermont and Maine.  Hillary couldn't win those (even closely in many cases), so John McCain must have those "in the bag" too.

Oh, but Clinton would make those up by winning Texas and Arizona, so they don't matter.

In 1988, Dukakis won the Ohio, Texas, California, Pennsylvania, Florida, and New Jersey primaries. Good thing he went on to sweep all those big states in the general election and become President.

Given the environment, I doubt either Clinton or Obama as the Democratic nominee would get crushed in the general. Independents will be decisive and just who have those tended to favor? Clinton or Obama?

And for those of you who say only Obama supporters can be fanatially unreasonable...

And while I'm on. You seem to be under some illusion that it's liberal activists who have catapulted Obama to where he is at. Wrong. There's no great ideological chasm between Clinton and Obama supporters. It's not like he has swept the liberal primary vote, with her dominating among moderate and conservative primary voters

Obama has won the caucus states because he has worked them; Clinton didn't because she got complacent and expected to have the nomination signed, sealed and delivered by Super Tuesday. It just hasn't worked out like that

The challenge facing the Democratic nominee whether Obama or Clinton is to unite their respective demographics moving through to the general. Yes, it's along demographic lines that the Democratic primary as split not ideological

I see another trend in that map. Obama has carried a lot of traditionally Republican states, and was able to garner votes from traditional Republican voters in places like Nevada. He also beat Hillary in many rural areas where Kerry was able to attract merely 20% approx of the vote in 2004. Based on that showing, Obama would be a far more attractive candidate for independents and moderate Republicans than Clinton.

The whole idea that you can infer which states a candidate is going to win in the GE based on where they win primaries is ridiculous.  McCain only won, what, 7 primaries in 2000?  Does that mean that he necessarily would have been a worse GE candidate than Bush?  No, of course not.  Because Bush got a disproportionately high share of votes from people who were going to vote for the Republican in the GE no matter what (while McCain got lots of indies), you can't make that argument.

So the question isn't whether Clinton or Obama are getting more votes from the "more important states".  It's **which voters they're getting in those states**.

everyone should stop wasting their time talking to Nomo.  most of the above posters probably don't know the history of Nomo and the havoc she caused (and will again if we let her).
