Since Obama would easily beat McCain and McCain would easily beat Clinton, your vote in November will not matter. What will matter is whether you vote for Obama or Clinton in your state.

If you vote for Obama it means that you want a Democrat in the White House.
If you vote for Clinton it means that you want a Republican in the White House.
(plus isn't Clinton pretty much of a Republican anyway?)

The polls will serve as evidence that Obama can beat McCain and Clinton can not.

Well I was planning to vote for McCain anyway. But if I wasn't, I might write Obama in as a sign of protest(which I think if the purpose for this being posted)

If that happened I'd vote for McCain and vote Democratic in down-ballot races. Of course it wouldn't matter as McCain would likely win in a 40-state landslide at that point.

It depends on what McCain does.  He has to pick a VP I find acceptable and he has to tone down some of his foreign policy rhetoric.  It will also depend on how chummy he stays with Bush.  I will not vote for Hillary under any circumstances but McCain will have to work hard to get my vote.  I'll definitely consider him strongly but if he overemphasizes certain issues or constituencies then I'll write in Obama.

I plan to vote for Nader if Clinton wins, regardless of vote totals. I would simply be more angry than disappointed should it appear that she lost both the pledged delegates and popular vote.

That's because people knew they would both lose to Reagen.

Hart had as much charisma as Reagan at the time. Hart wasn't a tax-and-spend liberal like Mondale, so taxes would have not been a deciding factor. Age may have been a much larger issue in '84 had Hart been the nominee. Who knows how that would have turned out, especially if Hart had chosen a seasoned vet like Bentsen as his running mate.

Yes, but have you seen how Mondale ended up doing?

I'll probably suck it up and vote for Hillary, barring some sort of insane gaffe. Then I'll get hammered. Because really, who wants to be sober and vote for that shrew.

Source? All the ones I've seen have Mondale winning the popular vote in 1984.

The last time the primary popular vote winner didn't win the nomination was 1972, when Humphrey got more votes than McGovern.
