I personally have not. But I'm curious as to whether anyone else here has.

At least these days, audio recordings are of course readily available to the public. Audio of every oral argument (and opinion announcement) is released at the end of the term--or, with especially high-profile cases, often the very same day. Before long, it's posted on Oyez.org for all to hear.

But alas, one gets the sense it's no perfect substitute for actually being there.

As an aside, is anyone planning on attending oral argument in District of Columbia v. Heller? I'd like to, but certainly won't because of some combination of the unfortunate facts that: (a) you'd probably have to show up ridiculously early (as in, the day before) to beat out the competition, (b) I have classes that day, (c) I'm not familiar with the area, and (d) I'm incredibly lazy.

So I'll sleep in, and settle for the MP3 file.

I'm looking forward to that case; I'm gonna put the oral argument on my ipod, and listen to it that way.

No. I have at the Irish Supreme Court, a couple of times.

First time was good, the judges took it turns tearing apart the appelant's submission for an interlocutary injunction - they almost got compeitive in pointing out the many different problems with his submission.

Looks like the line for Heller began yesterday afternoon, when "Jason McCrory, 23, and Dan Mott, 21, started the line at exactly 5:35 p.m." See here.

I must say I respect this sort of utter insanity. FF.

I was in the queue once, but gave up as the line was too long. It was that music copyright case in 2005.
