No....Obama wil die out and Hillary will step up and claim her rightful place as Democratic nominee and ultimately win the White House. Is that a good enough answer for you?

this thread isnt about hillary.

it is about obama.  his associations.  his candor with the american people...both of those are in doubt right now.

put down the kool aid and look around.

he might sweep it under the rug...for right now.  but you know the issue is bound to come back in the general election.

There are 5 weeks until Pennsylvania. That's like a decade in politics. The media will grow tired of this story (probably sometime next week) and by the time Pennsylvania votes this won't be a big issue.

Unless there's some other development, I agree.

It will hurt him most among the very group he doesn't need to be hurt with, though.

I highly doubt this one thing will end Obama's campaign.  Unless something more overt comes out about this (ie - video of Obama standing and clapping while Wright is ranting), all this will do is suppress some voters and give Killary a larger victory in PA.

Is there any need for the BRTD-type posts, walter?  Smiley

Wait and see, wait and see.  It isn't helping, of course.

I doubt it even does that unless it somehow survives another week as a story, highly unlikely given that we'll be treated to the full Spitzer retirement on Monday and who knows what else afterward. This isn't even close to the registration deadline; if it were, it might have some impact on PA.

pa isnt really the issue.  that state was basically gone even before this episode.

now obama needs to worry about the impact this episode is having in the future states (and with general election voters)

No.  Not a chance.  And the problem with McCain's spiritual advisors won't stick because they hate gays, abortion and Muslims.  Hence, they love America.

I can't for the life of me fathom how this incident would completely derail the Obama campaign. It's as relevant, possibly less relevant, than the Spitzer incident is to Clinton.

Very damaging, but survivable.

I think you have to look at the schedule as well.  Obama has had two bad press weeks.  It may be another five weeks.  Then there is the PA Primary, which might be a bigger loss than anticipated.  How will that effect IN and NC?  May 6 might be the crucial day.

Obama can survive even a bad loss in PA.  I'm not sure he could survive even moderate losses in IN and NC if that occurs.

Even if he holds, WV is next, a week later.  We have FL/MI that might be popping up.  There could a string of Obama losses, and I don't know if he survives those the way Clinton did.

So, it really depends on whether he can re-gain momentum or whether he will quit by mid-may.

Depends on what you mean by "damaging" and "survivable".

"Damaging," see my previous post, and include takes a hit in his poll numbers, which is more than a 3-4 day thing; it might also include a permanent reduction.  Survivable means he can recover by mid to late May.

People still care about this issue? Meh, even if they do it'll be forgotten in a week. Most voters have a very short attention span.
