I think the President for nominating me for this position. With a speedy confirmation I hope to take the reigns as the next Atlasian Attorney General, a position I held in 2004 when the office was first created.

Senator Jake, I while we certainly have had our differences in the past I hope you can move past that for the betterment of Atlasia. If President Phil can put aside our differences, I think you are more then capable as well.

I'll take that upon myself. Governor, what do you feel the duties of the Attorney General are, and what, in your opinion, is his (or her) most important function?

I believe the most important function of the Office of Attorney General to keep & promote general law and order in Atlasia, as well as prosecuting and investigating any violation of Atlasian law. As Attorney General I will continue to operate the Patents & Trademark office, and update the Wiki for legislation. I commend my predecessor for a thorough and ethical investigation into the Jessica Walterstein case, I will bring the same "vigor & decisiveness" to any cases that might appear before me in my capacity as Attorney General.

What is your opinion of the Walterstein decision, and the decision of the Supreme Court?

I commend all parties involved in the case, it was held to a high standard on the part of the Attorney General's office and the Supreme Court. I believe to the decision of the Court to be just and fair, however I tend to agree with Justice Ernest's interpretation of the case.

We are voting on whether or not to confirm the nominee.

As I was reading another thread I saw that issues of "competence" seem to plague this hearing. With that said, I believe that my record of government service in Atlasia speaks for itself. I think to say that I am not competent enough to hold this office is just ridiculous. As you can say see Jake made up his mind way before this confirmation hearing even started, yet has given no reason for his vote against me. The Senate's role is advice and consent of the President's nominations, and I believe I am more then qualified to hold this distinguished position.

I know that I do not get a say in this vote, no longer being a Senator and all, but I do encourage my former colleagues to confirm former Gov. MAS117 as Attorney General.

Which goes a long way towards proving why you shouldn't have been nominated.

I think I have the right to ask someone why they voted against me when I have never spoken to them and they do not participate in the confirmation hearing, along with giving no reason for their vote.

I must be missing something regarding MAS's qualifications for the office, then, because certainly nothing has been brought up here regarding why he is unfit for the job.

I dont mean to just speak out in this forum, but I have to agree with Mr. Moderate on this. From what I've seen so far, it appears that this process has been about personal issues with former Gov. Mas, versus his qualifications.  I strongly support him for this position, and believe he is well qualified for the role of Attorney General. I'd hope his votes are based on his qualifications, versus some possible personal feelings that they may have.

My vote is based on personal issues, which have evolved over three years of seeing MAS hop from office to office without really doing anything.
