The only counties with tied results in a presidential election that I've found are Morris, KS, in 1992 (1,071 votes each for Bush and Perot) and Ferry, WA, in 1988 (972 votes each for Dukakis and Bush).

Has anybody found any others?

In 1844, Polk and Clay tied in Gates County, NC, recieving 355 votes each. In 1852, in Orange County, FL, Pierce and Scott tied with 35 votes each. Coffee County, GA, was tied in 1856 (16 votes each for Buchanan and Fillmore).

It doesn't really count as a tied county, but in 1836, in Tolland County, Connecticut, Harrison defeated Van Buren by exactly 1 vote.

Mono County, California came close in 2004.  The results on the day after the election were reported as a tie, but the final results were 2628 for Kerry and 2621 for Bush.

Boone County, KY in 1976 (Carter and Ford 5,602 votes (49.21%) apiece, seven others 181 votes (1.59%) between them), and next-door Gallatin County, KY in 1984 (Reagan and Mondale 1,042 votes (49.78%) apiece, four others 9 votes (0.43%) between them).

Also, check out the Republican non-Presidential primaries under this Atlas's Kentucky Election Results home page, when tied counties were a fairly regular occurance into the 90s it seems as the total number of votes cast was very low in some counties.

I've just stumbled across another one:  Clarke county, MS in 1980.  Carter and Reagan won 3,303 votes each.

I know but NE Washington isn't quite as socially conservative as those areas...I suppose it's culture.  I've never been.

Not a tie, but in 1932 FDR won Winston, Alabama by 1 vote (1,006-1,005).

I saw a tied county at one point yesterday, but I fogot to make a note of it. Can't find it now, although saw a couple that were pretty close. Perhaps they opened some early ballots or something like that - ones that weren't counted yesterday.

Iowa County does seem like a tie. CNN has a tie, but I can't find Iowa SoS results.
