Reading some of these names that Democrats have listed makes me laugh. William Cohen, Olympia Snowe, Tom Ridge? What do all three of these people have in common? They are all liberal Republicans. I'm not surprised Democrats would advocate more liberal choices, but I think it's fanciful to believe these people have a good shot at being chosen.
I know these names are personal choices, but going left isn't going to help McCain with his base. I understand that Independent voters will be a big factor this year, but without the base McCain can't win. It won't matter how many Independents vote for him. That's just the way it works in Republican voting.
My top three personal choices
1. Chris Cox 2. Bobby Jindal 3. Mike Pence
The three most likely choices
1. Tim Pawlenty 2. Charlie Crist 3. Mark Sanford
