As I said in the similar thread, it would go to Newt.

I don't understand any Republican in power who would think this is a good idea. Who is Newt's base? This seems like as good an idea as running Jim Florio for Senate.

I didn't say it would be a good idea; I'm saying it might be the decision that has to be made when Huckabee and Romney are tearing each other apart.

By the way, Florio for Senate probably would have been a great idea. Remember, it's New Jersey.



Uh, since when? Remember when everyone was laughing at you (I know it happens a lot but try to recall thing one situation) with Pawlenty polling at about 55% approval?

A ticket of Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina and Senator John Thune of South Dakota.

That actually seems realistic.

They'd go with Kay Bailey Hutchsison.  And if Huckabee survived the crash, partly leaders would scramble to unite the other delegates to prevent him from getting the nomination.
