Although I wish they had not chosen China, and I'm glad that people are protesting, enough is enough.  Let the Olympics happen, don't disrupt the majesty of the Games for political purposes.
BS.  If you want the world's attention, why not use the world's biggest stage?
This is exactly why the protests started.

Bullsh*t. If you emigrate, that's fair enough, especially if you didn't emigrate for sporting reasons. This is pure opportunism, however, and rotten.

Also in the news, the Australian athletics team won't be at the opening ceremony because of 'pollution concerns'. Fair or over the top?
It's very common in other sports and it's popular in Basketball now as well. I don't agree with you - the opportunity to participate in the Olympics is rare and why should someone refrain from such a chance when he's been unable to compete fot his own country. She didn't go to Russia to play in their national team, after all - that opportunity came later.
