Had it been just one plane, I'd think the lousy state of post-Soviet aviation would be a liklier explanation.  Unfortunately, that also explains why two planes were probably targeted, because one wouldn't have ben noticable. Sad

Chechen Al Qaeda, or someone as closely linked as makes n difference. Funded, trained, armed, indoctrinated, and operated by Iran.

Mark my words.... August 25th is Russia's September 11th. The bear is awakened from its slumber. Everything is about to change.

Watch the Caucasus, Central Asia, Iraq, and Bushehr for major changes in the coming days.

I don't know what these Islamic fundamentalists/Chechen seperatists hope to acheive by these actions. People just sympathise with the victim of the terrorist attack (Russia in this case).

Considering the amount of much more clear and devestating terrorism on Russian soil, and right in Moscow, I really doubt that this event will make a significant difference on Russian policy. The apartment bombings did, and the theatre siege did, but those were much bigger, and effected people more, and right in Moscow. Considering how many planes go down in Russia...

In summary, this is no September 11th. It probably isn't even an embassy bombing.

Supposedly explosives were found in the remains of one(or both?) of the planes...
