This could prove to be the most interesting race of the cycle.

Franken has lost a good bit of ground because of the "back taxes" scandal thing.  I'm curious to see whether he can recover strongly because of course, he's not a politician, and the question deserves to be asked.  Heck, I've even read that Ciresi is talking about getting back into the race.  We'll see.

Well, I'm thinking Franken is going to gain at least some ground as we get closer to November, especially assuming Obama is the nominee.

Did something happen in Minnesota that I wasn't paying attention to? Franken used to be tied or beating Coleman, and then Ciresi dropped out and suddenly Coleman started leading by 10 points.

There's the "back taxes" thing Sam mentioned although I haven't noticed it getting THAT much coverage or being that big of a deal. Maybe right wing local news networks and non-Star Tribune newspapers are pushing it harder than the media I actually pay attention to, who knows.

As annoying as the GOP convention will be, it may actually be a boon to us, since it's going to be pretty tough for Coleman to distance himself from the national GOP with it here.
