There are quite a few prominant Ron Paul supporters who are now Obama supporters, with Andrew Sullivan being the most obvious example. The most ironic thing is that having previously supported a candidate who was to the right of Pat Buchannan, and who thinks that the wrong side won the Civil War, they now claim that Obama's election would be 'groundbreaking' and that to oppose Obama would be racist.
Obama's candidacy is genuinely groudbreaking, and it is good to know that even people on the far right are willing to change but the Paulites to claim that they want a 'groundbreaking' candidacy and who make insinuations about McCain (or Clinton) supporters are being disingenuous to the point of hypocrisy given their previous views. I'd have a lot more respect for the Paulites, not that I had much respect for them in the first place, who now support Obama if they admitted that their support was just because they share his isolationist views on foreign policy.
